Career entry made easy
How do I find my dream job? Most employers give you the opportunity to look around while you are still at school. This makes it easier for you to find out if it’s a match and you don’t waste time later. Whether it’s a short trial internship during the holidays or a compulsory internship during the school year: An internship is always a good chance to put your expectations to the test. Do you enjoy the work? Do you suit the employer and its requirements - and vice versa? If in doubt, ask your teachers if they can help you find a suitable internship.
The first impression counts
Best not!
When it comes to clothing, there are a few no-goes. They include:
- mini skirt
- shorts
- torn trousers (holes)
- worn out shoes (holes)
- cropped tops
- headphones in your ears
During an internship you have the opportunity to convince your potential employer of your skills in advance. This can be useful if you apply for a job later on. It is not uncommon for an internship to lead to the prospect of an apprenticeship. Unfortunately, you have to understand that you are not always entitled to payment for your internship. This especially applies to short internships of up to three months. Although this may seem annoying at first glance, you should bear in mind: The experience you gain will very probably pay off for you in the future! You’ll find further information about internships on the website of the Federal Employment Agency. Under Our vacancies you’ll also find internships in the Federal Administration.
Success! You’ve managed to get an internship? Then take a look at the following questions so as to make a good impression on your first day!

- Who should I report to when I arrive?
